Everyone: Your celebration is short lived, an attache sent from Yarrick himself comes to the bunker to deliver his personal opinion on your success. Expert OpinionBefore you are able to carry out any acts that may or may not warrant a court marshal that might have been developing in your minds, the bunker's vox starts broadcasting an announcement from Planetary Governor Von Strab himself. AssurancesDespite the Governor's words, the training exercises continue. You are the Shield of the Imperium after all, constant vigilance is a requirement to operate efficiently. The Commissar's blunt attache orders you into the jungles of the planet and gives you your next assignment. Jungle Warfare Goryle appears to start yelling at some of the guardsmen for improper utilization of their gas-masks... Before he can however, your esteemed opponent presents himself and begins to talk to Cusher himself. Friendly Competition Goryle immediately begins screaming out Jaxxon and tells him to get back to his command, along with a few other sentences that include other commands and vulgarities. For this next exercise, you are given a few new weapons to operate alongside your current forces. A Gift From CommandYour current mission is to occupy a nearby town and two sections of a trench line, vital for the defense of the opposing force, your force will be split into two sections to accomplish this task. MapAlong with the Bombards, command has sent you two new officers in the form of Lt. Samuel and Lt. Zarmon. You may utilize them however you wish.

Personal thoughts of Commander Postumus Cusher AKA: P.C.
Well that mission went well, we crushed a force of inferior units quickly and efficiently. More of an exercise in unit coordination and command. My lieutenants did very well, I'm very pleased with their performance and initiative in the face of changing circumstances. Naturally the drill sergeant found something somewhere to criticize us about as all drill sergeants from the dawn of time do. Don't want us to think to highly of ourselves.
Also heard our Glorious Governor's announcement, so reassuring. I can't help but think that thing is a bad omen, I don't envy whoever gets to board that thing. Fortunately that's something for the Mechanicus to deal with, we'll probably never have to deal with whatever is on that thing. I'm not qualified to comment technotheological matters like archeotech. Can't wait till we get mobilized off world, the Governor's just.... I know better then to record that train... Lemme see...
Recording ends
Good to see you all made it, no executions today. *the Commander smiles* Don't let Goryle get to you, drill sergeants aren't supposed to build you up so easily. We can hate Jaxxon instead. We've gotten two new lieutenants assigned to us. Lieutenants Samuel and Zermon. Now that we've got the introductions out of the way. Lets get right to business, we'll be fighting in the harshest terrain on Armageddon, so this should be easy for us.
I'm assigning Lt. Zermon to our second Infantry unit, show me how you can perform under pressure. Lt. Zermon will take our second Sentinel squad. Lt. Hypsicratea you'll be commanding both of our artillery, They're only with us temporarily so don't get too attached to them. The Rocket squad will be assigned to Lt. Firefly for this mission along with his previous infantry squad. Lt. Levodicus you'll take your previous squad of sentinels, you'll make do with just the one for now.
For the Battle plan, we're going to move through the center. We'll be moving along the Clearings to the north and south of the strip of jungle in the middle of the battlefield towards our objectives. Lt. Levodicus you'll be assigned to the northern route along with Lt. Firefly's forces. Lt. Firefly try to keep the rocket troop able to move to support the southern force if they need it. Lt. Zermon you'll be going with the southern route with Lt. Samuel. Lt. Hypsicratea you'll split your units so the each of the routes has one bombard to support their push.
We're going to push hard towards the objectives, Be sure the occupy the one right next to our positions. Try not to get hung up too long with the units Jaxxon will be trying to slow us down with. meet up at the trenches and take the northern objective first then secure the final one. Lets make this flawless like the last mission, wait for Hypsicratea to soften up any hardened positions.
If there are no questions, then move out and join your units. The Emperor protects!

-relunctantly climbs back into Armageddons' Eyes- That Man is going to eat his own words...
-tactics- Advance cautiously up the northern flank. I want to keep a little space in between any low visibility areas. Prioritize fire on vehicles & Anti-vehicle units.

Aknowledged, Captain. We shall proceed according to your orders. Listen up, Guardsmen. I have some bad news, and good news. Bad news - our second platoon is reassigned to a new CO for this mission, so they won't be around to soak that damage for you. Good news - for this mission we are given support of the Missile Launchers detachment. They shall be our force multiplier for this exercise. Now, time for the deployment. We start in group North. The Infantry squad deploys inside the building (the one with a deployment point) Their task is to take the first victory hex. The Launchers deploy on the road to the north-east from their position to support their assault. As soon as the enemy point is taken, they are to move south to support group South should they need it. Make no mistake - Jaxxon's men won't allow us to turn this mission into another cakewalk. May the Emperror watch over us all.

OOC Note: If orders are not given in an extended period of time (say, three days) I will move the idle force as I see fit. Everyone: Your soldiers set up in their positions, the exercise begins in earnest. The objective ahead of you has rather light resistance. A few hive militia and some vehicle support. First ContactHypsicratea: Your bombards, noticing the vehicles as the bigger threat and easier target due to being out in the open, decide to fire upon them. The first volley aimed at the wyverns. The size of these vehicles makes them easy targets and their limited armor does little to stop the damage dealt from the volley, knocking out all but one of the vehicles. wyverns crippled Levodicus: With the artillery fire crippling the wyvern squadron your sentinels were able to fire without consequence. The vehicle is easily brought down by the fire of lascannons, with the crew clambering out and limping back to the safe zone now that their part is done. wyvern slayedSam T: Your own sentinels move northwards and proceeds to fire flanking shots at the taros FAV's from a safe distance, you catch the vehicles by total surprise and down five of the vehicles before they can get their engines running. Lighting assault Fireflyboy: Your rocket units, noticing the enemy taros vehicles are in a bad situation, move up and fires upon them. The last two vehicles are blown onto their sides. Killing blowYour own platoon starts firing upon the enemy holed up in the objective. Your fire only manages to down four of their foes however their own return fire is unable to hit any of your own men. Urban fightingHypsicratea: With one of your batteries still able to fire, they immediately turn their attention to the enemy firing upon Firefly's men. Unfortunately the building is sturdy enough to withstand the volley of training rounds, however you still manage to down four of the enemy combatants. Supporting FireEvilman: Your forces push up to support Samuel's sentinels and proceeds to fire upon the remainders of the entrenched enemy. Not suspecting flanking fire, the enemy force held up in the building immediately surrenders with those offering resistance getting hit by las fire. Objective cleared Fireflyboy: With the objective cleared, your platoon is able to quickly secure it without a fuss. All of the squads in the platoon report no casualties sustained and ensure the rooms are cleared. Objective securedEveryone: Your assault has went well so far. However the fact that this was a small vanguard meant to hold you up is evident, it failed utterly at slowing you down for a time that would have actually mattered. Current situation

Keep moving, Guardsmen - Lt. Hypsicratea's Bombards have your backs, so do not dissapoint the lady! Launchers squad - move forward and take cover among dead trees on your south-east. Your primary target is the enemy gun position. But I do not want you to play heroes - wait for the artillery to strike first, then eliminate anything left alive. Meanwhile, my platoon will move around the patch of trees in front of them from the south and continue east. Let us hope that turret won't reach us there.

OOC: Whoa hold on there Ahriman, I told you I was waiting for the others to deploy. You should have just deployed everyone on your own, then told us how you deployed, then wait for us to provide our first movement orders. You should also have clearly told everyone that they can and need to choose where to deploy their troops.
IC: Bombards are ordered to move up and provide counter-artillery fire, top to top, and bottom to bottom.

OOC Note: Finally managed to update, I am sorry for the wait. Hypsicratea: Your south battery of bombards fires upon the tarantula turrets, out and the open and completely immobile they prove helpless as your bombards blast them to pieces with shells meant for fortified bunkers. Complete DestructionYour northern battery proves no less effective, with the northern turrets suffering the same fate. Now the infantry and walkers can advance without worry of turret fire. Clear AdvanceFireflyboy and Evilman: Your platoon advances towards the jungle, Firefly north and Zarmon south, with squadrons deployed at point to ensure no ambushes. The atmosphere is tense as you know the enemy could be hiding in every bush or have devised a way to harm your soldiers with traps. Firefly Moves ForwardZarmon's PushLevodicus and SamT: Similar to Firefly and Zarmon, your squads split up to cover more ground north and south. Unlike the two infantry commanders however, both of you spot enemy infantry squadrons hiding in the forestry. Your lascannons open up, inflicting rather surprising losses on the enemy.
Samuel Scores KillsAlong with LevodicusEveryone: Your advance is going as well as a push into a jungle environment can, any choke-holds have been blasted clear and ambushing units have been discovered on time and are pinned down. Current situationStrategic Map

Bombards are ordered to move as far forward, towards the remaining objectives as possible, and then to provide artillery support for the assault on those objectives.

Keep advancing, Guardsmen! Even if your only job is mopping up, you will do it properly! Infantry platoon - advance North-East towards the enemy infantry. Engage them if they are still alive, keep going East if the aren't. Launchers - advance North-East towards the central clearing in the jungle, fire at will. And keep those gas masks tight on - local spore plants are vicious!
