OOC Note: PartyCommissar has given you all free reign for the remainder of this mission. Hypsicratea: Your missile platoon proceeds southwards, trying to ignore the burning wreckage of the previously destroyed Tauros. Despite the dreadful scene, Sgt. Vandis congratulates you on a well done maneuver. MovementLevodicus: Your own squadron fires their lascannons at the tauros squadron, the weapons quickly making short work of your mock opponents. You can faintly hear one of your defeated opponents screaming vulgarities at your walkers, you can't help but admire how much his lungs can take. Defeated Tauros squadAfterwards, your squadron moves east, towards the last objective with Cpl. Harkin voxing in that he notices enemy infantry behind the mountains in a similar fashion to the southern sentinel squad's current target. Considering the size of the force, you can only assume this is where Jaxxon put most of his attention. More hiding adversariesYour southern squadron proceeds to flank southwards and pop up behind the enemy infantry. Once again, with their enemies caught out in the open their lascannons strike with unerring accuracy... Sending one enemy flying into the mountain despite the non-leathal modifications. More sitting ducksFireflyboy: 2nd platoon is noticeably disappointed at the fact that the enemy in this sector have been mopped up. Your own 1st platoon is much more satisfied, with your sergeants congratulating your guardsmen for their shots and you for your judgement. Both platoons proceed to march across the road, with 1st taking point, as befitting a confident and soon to be victorious force. The march to victory Everyone: The enemy is still in shock, the only visible opposition aside from those who are fortified on the last objective are scrambling for cover against lascannon fire, yet unable to find any in the general area. Move, move! Your kill score is pathetic! Both squads are to continue moving along the road towards the last victory hex as far as they can. Their target priority is the enemy infantry behind the rocks to the south.

OOC Note: For expediency's sake, I assumed that Hypsicratea wished that I continued her orders and proceed around the mountain. I apologize if this was not the case. Hypsicratea: Your platoon moves past the mountain range and notices the enemy infantry, upon your orders they set up and fire training frag missiles in quick efficiency and downing five combatants. Flanking fire Levodicus: the southern sentinels, with no other target, focus their fire on the last opfor, again, giving him rather grievous injury... Sgt. Gruber assures you via vox that the man can "walk it off". overwhelming oddsWith the enemy defeated, the sentinels follow your orders and make sure to cover the missile launchers. They move a small distance south to recon the area, with Sgt. Gruber reporting no visuals. It may be safe to assume the southern area is completely clear. Recon movementYour own squadron, on the other hand had less luck. Unable to get a good shot on the enemy while maintaining as safe distance your sentinels are unable to hit any of the fortified enemy. However, your squad is safe from counter attack. Failed accuracyFireflyboy: Your guardsmen, motivated by frustration from your words, proceed down the road as quickly as they can. You are unable to engage the enemy now, however you will soon be able to take up firing positions, however, reports from the sentinels tell you that the unit is far stronger and better equipped than that of the previous enemy infantry. You will have the advantage, surely, however this will not be as easy as the previous victories. Continued MarchEveryone: Your mission is on the brink of success. Jaxxon's forces are preparing for your assault but you know your advantage is so overwhelmingly high they might as well surrender. Situation

All right, Guarsmen - this is what you have all been waiting for! Close quarters combat! Both squads are to take position in the buildings. Specifically I need you to occupy the building on the road, and if possible, the building to the south-east of it, so that everyone has a line of fire to the enemy position. I trust the seargants with this one - if the first squad is able to move past the enemy to the second building, and the second squad can take firing position in the building on the road, that would be just exellent. Failing that, just get inside those buildings and show Jaxxon your firing skills. This time, however, I want you to show caution - do not engage the enemy while you are in the open. Seek cover first, fire second. And keep those corpsmen close - by the Emperror's name, they shall receive some training soon!

Everyone: Your plans are all sent to the appropriate unit commanders. Everyone is setting up for what they know will be the final push. However, urban combat is seldom a clean, predictable ordeal. And despite the quick annihilation of the previous enemy units, that only emboldens the enemy to fight harder, for their own reputation is on the line as well and they will not be seen as cowards. Levodicus: The southern sentinels move into maximum range and fires, their lascannons downing one enemy who felt curious about the situation and popped out of cover. ResultsNonetheless, the rest of the platoon learns its lesson, and when your own squadron fires their weaponry, the rest keep their heads down and your fire inflicts no losses. Lessons LearnedHypsicratea: Your platoon moves forward, moving as fast as they can to get into range of the enemy combatants, knowing their frag missiles will be ideal for the situation. Unable to reach it now, your men are still invigorated knowing that its just one quick march away. So CloseFireflyboy: Your sergeants acknowledges your orders and prepares your platoons for the dangers of moving under fire and close combat. Levodicus' sentinels keep the enemy's heads down and allow your men to make it to their positions without overwatch fire, with your own platoon making it to the south eastern building and 2nd platoon making it to the structure facing the enemy. Successful occupationHowever... Once your men start firing upon the enemy the mission starts to experience setbacks. Your own platoon fires upon the enemy unit to soften them up for 2nd platoon, however the enemy has fortified their position heavily and were ready to receive enemy infantry, their return fire downs Pvt. Hemingway and Pvt. Marcus. Despite the non-lethal ammunition, they clearly need medical attention and their developing screams are not helping troop morale. Urban Combat2nd platoon engages the enemy as well, despite having a better shot on the enemy, this is a double edged sword and it benefits your foes as well. Staff-Sergeant Vorris reports that 2nd squad and 3rd squad have taken losses and the corpsmen are doing their damnedest to keep the wounded stable. Nevertheless your men fight on, they will prove their worth on this field even if they have to fix bayonets and charge that manufactorum. 2nd Platoon's Stand Off Everyone: Victory is close, but the enemy won't just give it to you. Your assault is starting to slow down and at this rate losses will start to pile up. Situation

Jaxxon's men are fighting hard. Good - the more shall be our glory! Keep firing, disregard the losses. That is the last objective, and we will take it for the Emperror! As soon as the enemys are vanquished, occupy the hex. That is the standing order!
OOC: I suppose, you can go on the rest of the mission without new orders from me. My position is good, and intent is clear.

Hypsicratea: Your units move into position. However the situation is abysmal for accurate firing... With Firefly's 2nd platoon committed to close combat, the equal height of the buildings, and the confusion of the whole situation. lasbolts and autogun fire fly throughout the whole area, your men can't get a good shot and even if you could, you would likely hit friendlies. You notice a few guardsmen getting a bit frustrated at the whole situation, only for Sgt. Vandis to gesture for them to not do anything stupid. Bad situationLevodicus: When you listen to your sentinel's vox. You honestly think you should have Sgt. Gruber disciplined for lying to an officer... But by the Emperor his squad's shots aimed true. While Jaxxon's men focus on fighting Firefly's men they forgot about the sentinels and didn't focus on cover until it was too late. six of the foe is downed in one volley, the rest in a panic scramble for cover realizing that they still are on the back foot. Emperor Guided LascannonsEven your own squad manages a hit. Suddenly any possible enemy forces are keeping their heads down in fear of their lives. Every little bit helpsFireflyboy: The enemy is softened up, Levodicus' sentinels once again showing their use even in pitched fighting by keeping the enemies heads down. Staff-Sergeant Vorris voxes in and tells you him and the men want to live up on that promise on assaulting the enemy and you give them the go. Suddenly the weapons fire is drowned out in shouts. "For the Emperor, For Armageddon!!" is all one can hear as your own platoon provides supporting fire and hits four of the enemy trying to fire at the incoming guardsmen. Supporting fireOnce 2nd Platoon's men got in the building the enemy was caught completely defenseless, point blank las shots and altered bayonets seeking flesh rip through the enemy remnants. And to top it all off, not a single guardsman was injured in the assault, the enemy too focused on ensuring their own safety from fire to prepare an efficient defense in a close quarters assault. Staff Sergeant Vorris gives you the news via his vox over the shouts of the victorious platoon. A small victory, but an important one for these men. For the Emperor! For Armageddon!Everyone: The exercise ends, the overseeing officers giving the call for all hostilities to end. You are all to report to Cusher's bunker to be given details of the situation, see what went right, and what went wrong. Either way, the chorus of victory shouts engulfs the whole grounds as you make way to the bunker. Victory!OOC Note: I will be showing the next mission soon. Either way, this is a time of respite and you may use it however you wish, IC or OOC. Either way, this is a good way to give our new officers an introduction at least, as you should be receiving news of their arrival.

A fine day, soldiers! This small victory is but a start towards many to come. You fought baravely, you remained cool under fire. Staff Sergant Vorris and his squad receive an additional day off this month. I am proud to serve under command of Captain Cusher, as his strategical talent is yet to shine. I also wish to thank Lt. levodicus and Lt. @hypsicratea for their help in dispathing the enemy. Without their supporting fire, my men could hardly have prevailed. May the Emperror watch over us all, for we will need this soon enough.

Alright Machine Spirit... Im gunna give you a slight repair job -Argumentative Chirps- now now! Not gunna weld you. Just tighten your bolts to get back to the Mech Priests. -reluctant chirp-

We have succeeded in our first training mission, but this is no victory as the real foe is still out there ravaging Armageddon and in great numbers. However, before we are ready to go out there and fight the Green Tide we will need more training. I hope that we will be able to tackle these missions with as much speed as this one so that we can sooner go out there and defend our homeworld of Armageddon from the Ork menace. May the Emperor protect us.
