Hey guys and welcome to this new little thing i hope that works out.So basically this thread will review Agrippa's actions in his tw vids/strategy games and see if whether or not hes a strategical commander,a man who fights thinking logically and sees the battlefield as a game of chess or an instinctual type,a rare type of general who fights on instinct, throws away all thinking and strikes when the time is right.Or he can be both! lets find out
In today's chapter were going to be reviewing his actions in Egypt!,the land of sands a paradise stuck in time 2 men fighting against each other 1 for a woman 1 for his kingdom. Will Agrippa win? lets find out! so here the link btw youtu.be/sgTbwctuoNY lets start!
so right off the bat at the start of the battle Agrippa notices the hill where the enemy is,of course its heavily fortified with a marsh at the bottom to to slow his men down, what does he think to counter this? by sending his legionary's on boats to try to flank them.So far a strategical move. he moves his land troops forward near the marsh to try to find some cover from the hot sun and the enemy's arrows, again a strategical move.Of course with his naval troops he has an onager with them and immediately he use's it to try and sink the enemy's naval units, this might be a move based on his gut, instinct that tell him those enemy boats are gonna be a pain in his ass unless he doesn't find a way to deal with them.As his navy deals with the enemy's on the sea he immediately uses his arches to fire at them most dangerous thing to his army. The ballista, this again might be both a strategical move or instinct because either way if not dealt with that ballista can be a huge pain to deal with, capable of knocking out his hard earned legionary's he has to knock that ballista out before it can cause any real damage. Now he splits his army in half, one taking the less steeps part of the hill, the other taking the more steeper one, putting his general with the more steep troops that can be both counted as a instinctual move and a strategical move right there but rember strategical type generals normally and usually dont advance with their troops, they tend to avoid danger and stay in the back. The battle on hill starts for real now as camel cavalry charges down the hill to try to take out his arches,he counters by charging in 2 Calvary units tword the camels,a very smart strategical move right there.now the enemy is moving down hill Agrippa charges his infantry twords the enemy infantry and send some units to lock down the enemy chariots because he knows that they can be a pain to deal with, again i'm gonna say that that's instinct calling him right there because he took action right away.As the battle continues on he takes advantage of some pockets that opend up and commands his Calvary to go through them to hit his enemy's in the back with a charge that one goes to instinct it think because he subconsciously moved the cav through the gaps really quickly.Agrippa wins the battle at the end of the day but at a cost, out of 2000 men he lost 1600,this shows that he's willing to throw men away for the sake of victory,so i say this one goes to instinct here of course this is merely chapter 1 so stay tuned for more guys!
